Doctors of Optometry (ODs) are the primary health care professionals for the eye.  Optometrists are responsible for much more than just glasses and contact lenses.  They routinely perform eye examinations that lead to diagnoses, treatments, and management of many ocular diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
